On October 1, Epcot is celebrated its 30th anniversary, and we’re celebrating by taking a look back at Epcot then and now!

When Epcot opened on October 1, 1982 Future World was home to World of Motion, a journey through the history of transportation.

World Of Motion
Today, that space is home to Test Track, which gives guests a thrilling race using the latest and greatest in automobile design.

The Land pavilion in Future World was originally home to Kitchen Kabaret, an audio-animatronic show about healthy eating.

Today, that space is home to Soarin’, where guests can fly over the beautiful landscape of California without ever buying a plane ticket.

On Epcot’s opening day, you could have visited El Rio de Tiempo in the Mexico pavilion of World Showcase to learn about Mexican culture and history.

El Rio de Tiempo, still under construction

Today, you can still experience all the culture and history of Mexico, but with a little help from our favorite feathered friends, on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros!

Epcot has changed quite a bit since opening day, one thing remains the same: Spaceship Earth! Although the attraction itself has been reimagined a few times since 1982, our favorite geodesic sphere still inspires the same vision of people around the world working together to create a better tomorrow.
